Biography
Este is an immortal faeling from the Traveling City, where she lives with her sister, Gallie. She first meets Aris after Aris and Raker are brought to the city for treatment. Este helps care for Aris, introduces her to the Elders, and explains more about the city and its people.
During their time together, Este becomes increasingly concerned about Aris’s fixation on revenge. She warns her that revenge can consume and corrupt a person, but still chooses to help her. Before Aris leaves the Traveling City, Este gives her a way to call for help if she needs it.
Later, Raker uses that connection after Aris is severely injured. Este answers the call and helps save Aris, bringing her back to the Traveling City and treating her in a pool of starlight.
Este eventually makes a much larger sacrifice for Aris. She chooses to leave the Traveling City and join her journey, knowing that anyone who leaves through its gates cannot return. By doing so, Este gives up her home and her life with Gallie, believing that Aris may be the person who can finally change the world around them.
Physical Description
Este has tan, faintly glowing skin, emerald-green eyes, and smooth braided hair arranged in long waterfall braids that meet at the back in an intricate style. She is described as strikingly beautiful and often wears shimmering, otherworldly fabrics in pink. As a faeling, Este also has wings that trail down her back in gleaming, ribbon-like strands.
Personality
Este comes across as kind, empathetic, and thoughtful, with a strong instinct to help others. She is gentle with Aris but also willing to challenge her, especially when she sees how deeply revenge is shaping her choices.
