Biography
Kira is a mortal from Brambleside, a coastal town at the western edge of Stormside. She enters the Questral for one reason: to save her younger sister, Anise, who is seriously ill and needs magic to survive.
Kira grows up in a difficult home. Her mother becomes addicted to hemdrake and abandons Anise in the outskirts of town shortly after her birth. Kira brings the baby back and takes responsibility for her, stealing food and other necessities to keep them both alive. After their mother dies, Kira and Anise are left on their own.
Kira qualifies for the Questral and soon befriends Aris Agron and Zane Sterling. The three form a pact to protect one another and travel together through Starside.
During the journey, Kira claims a magical sword and becomes deeply attached to it after spending much of her life feeling unwanted and overlooked. Later, while traveling by boat through a violent storm, she jumps into the water to recover the blade. She survives, but suffers severe injuries to her leg.
Knowing she will slow Aris and Zane down, Kira asks them to continue without her. Before they leave, she makes Aris promise that if she reaches the end of the Questral, she will use magic to help Anise.
Kira later falls into Cadoc’s hands. He keeps her alive long enough to torment her before killing her. Aris eventually learns of Kira’s death after seeing Cadoc carrying her purple-bladed sword.
Physical Description
Kira has red hair, green eyes, and freckled skin.
Personality
Kira is bold, sharp-tongued, and fiercely loyal. She uses humor and sarcasm even in dangerous situations and tends to speak her mind without much hesitation.
Her strongest motivation is her younger sister, Anise, and much of what Kira does during the Questral comes from her determination to save her. She is also protective of Aris and Zane once they form their pact, though she can be stubborn and impulsive when something matters deeply to her.
Abilities
Kira has no known supernatural abilities of her own. She is a capable fighter and survivor who earns a place in the Questral.
