Biography
Chradh is a brown scorpion-tailed dragon who is bonded to Garrick Tavis in Rebecca Yarros’s Empyrean series. In 631 AU, he bonded with Garrick, despite having previously bonded with Garrick’s ancestor. This hidden fact gave Garrick two signets.
In Fourth Wing, Chadh trains with Garrick and assists with secret transfers of Poromish weapons before participating in the riot at the Battle of Resson. In Iron Flame, he helps rescue Violet Sorrengail and warns about dangerous runes before the Battle of Basgiath. He also fights alongside the Fourth Wing.
By Onyx Storm, Chradh learns of Xaden’s venin transformation and joins the quest squad. He survives Theophanie’s tornado with scars along his jaw and shows his ferocity when he sets fire to a forest after Garrick is poisoned.

Powers and Abilities
Like other dragons, Chradh can breathe fire and fight with his scorpion tail, talons, and fangs. He is also unusually sensitive to runes and can detect and locate them more easily than most dragons.
