Early Life and Family Background
Aurelia Ferron, née Ingram, is born into the Ingram family, a minor iron-aligned lineage that has maintained guild membership for nearly a century without achieving significant political or economic influence. Her family’s strategy for advancement centers on marriage alliances rather than institutional power.
According to Aurelia, her parents, who are cousins, arranged their marriage with the explicit goal of producing a daughter with pure iron resonance. Her father believes that such a child could be married into the Ferron family to secure control and status within Paladia’s iron guild.
Aurelia states that her father employs a vivimancer to examine her mother’s pregnancies early. When the first two pregnancies show no sign of iron resonance, they are not carried to term. She recounts that her mother later burns the remains and buries the ashes in the family garden. Aurelia is the third daughter her mother carries, and the only one brought to term. Her mother later tells her that the first two children were hers, while Aurelia belonged to Kaine Ferron.

Aurelia marries Kaine Ferron. Their marriage is arranged when Kaine is nine years old, as part of a long-term alliance strategy between iron-aligned families.
