Biography / History
The War
Before the Wall was built, Prince Drakon of the Seraphim became engaged to the Queen of the Black Land, a brutal ruler who kept humans as slaves. As an engagement “gift,” she presented him with Miryam, a half-Fae, half-human slave. Horrified, Drakon freed Miryam and immediately broke the engagement, opening his eyes to the queen’s cruelty and shifting his allegiance to the human rebellion.
Drakon spent years searching for Miryam while fighting alongside the humans. Three years later, he and his Seraphim army arrived as reinforcements for Jurian’s forces during a major battle, where Miryam was the healer who tended his injuries. Their armies fought side by side, and as Miryam’s relationship with Jurian collapsed, she and Drakon fell in love. The two soon discovered they were mates and were married the same night Jurian killed Clythia.
After Jurian’s fall, Drakon accompanied Miryam to the Black Land to free the human slaves she had left behind. Together, they liberated nearly fifty thousand people and led them across the desert to the Erythrian Sea. When the Queen of the Black Land burned the rescue ships and attacked, Drakon and his Seraphim used their magic to part the sea, holding off the enemy to protect the fleeing humans.
During the final clash, Miryam was struck down by a spear. Though she died from her wounds, Drakon used a powerful Cauldron-Made artifact hidden on a sacred island to resurrect her, granting her the long life of a Fae.
After the War
Following Miryam’s resurrection, Drakon and Miryam let the world believe they were dead and retreated to Cretea, where they built a peaceful nation where humans and Fae coexist. Only the Inner Circle knew they lived.
Centuries later, facing tensions on their borders, Drakon and Miryam used powerful magic inspired by Velaris to hide Cretea from all outsiders, ensuring their people’s safety and the stability of their hidden sanctuary.
A Court of Wings and Ruin
As the War with Hybern loomed, Rhysand sent Azriel to locate Miryam and Drakon, hoping to secure the support of their powerful Seraphim legions and the human forces living on Cretæa. Although Azriel found the island empty except for ancient ruins, a powerful spell shielding Cretæa had prevented him—and anyone else—from reaching them.
Meanwhile, Miryam and Drakon caught wind of a rumor: Jurian was hunting Miryam, allegedly seeking revenge. Realizing this meant a new conflict was erupting in Prythian and that Cretæa’s protective magic was blocking communication, they mobilized. Miryam and Drakon sailed with their combined Fae and human army, joined forces with independent mortal armies en route, and arrived in Prythian in time to reinforce the allied courts against Hybern.
During the final battle, their armies helped hold the lines until Amren unleashed her true form and eliminated Hybern’s remaining forces.
After the war, Miryam and Drakon assisted in arranging renewed peace negotiations between Fae and humans, sharing their own history as living proof that both peoples can coexist. At Feyre Archeron’s request, they also took the Cauldron to Cretæa, securing it far from Prythian to prevent future conflicts over its immense power.
