Location
Etras is a crescent chain of islands located south of Paladia, lying between two continents in the open sea. The region is largely agrarian and maritime, characterized by cliffs, small villages, farms, and coastal trade rather than heavy industry.
Description
Etras has little natural metal and no lumithium, making alchemy rare and largely unstructured. While a small number of alchemy guilds exist, there is no formal training system comparable to Paladia’s Institute. As a result, resonance is uncommon and alchemical practice plays a limited role in everyday life.
Culturally, Etras is known for its animated language and expressive communication, with frequent use of gestures. Life on the islands is shaped by agriculture, fishing, and proximity to the sea, with painted carts, olive farms, and small coastal settlements forming the backbone of daily life.
Relevance
Etras is Helena Marino’s place of origin. Before being brought to Paladia, Helena Marino studies in the Etrasi city of Khem. After the war, Helena Marino, Kaine Ferron, and Lila Bayard flee to Etras. Helena later lives there with Kaine Ferron and Enid, and Enid studies in Khem.
