Location
Zolya is Braevick’s second most populous city and the longtime home of Cliffsbane Flight Academy, Poromiel’s premier training ground for gryphon fliers. Set at the foot of the Esben Mountains along the Stonewater River, Zolya sits roughly a four-hour flight from Navarre’s border. Its riverside position and proximity to the mountains made it ideal for flight training and rapid deployments, which is why Cliffsbane was established here and why the city’s loss had outsized military impact across Poromiel.
Relevance
In 634 AU, Zolya fell after a two-day assault by venin and wyvern, an event that shattered Poromiel’s air power and forced surviving cadets to flee, first to Cordyn and later to Aretia, where they trained alongside Navarrian riders. After the fall, venin repurposed Zolya as a base to train their initiates, underscoring the city’s strategic value.
