Biography
Sawyer Henrick is a rider from Luceras, a settlement along Navarre’s cold northern coast. During his first year in the Riders Quadrant at Basgiath War College, he did not bond with a dragon at Threshing and was required to repeat the year. He kept this from his family, allowing them to believe he could not write home for two years.
In his repeated first year, Sawyer befriended Violet Sorrengail and Rhiannon Matthias. He and Rhiannon agreed to help Violet with hand-to-hand combat in exchange for her tutoring them in history. Sawyer later completed the Gauntlet with ease and successfully bonded with Sliseag, a red Swordtail dragon, securing his place as a rider.
In Iron Flame, Sawyer was chosen by Rhiannon Matthias to serve as Executive Officer of her squad, Iron Squad. During the Battle of Basgiath, he lost his leg below the knee to a wyvern bite.
In Onyx Storm, Sawyer continues to serve as a rider. He adapts to his prosthetic leg and is able to mount and fly with Sliseag despite the loss of his limb.
