Biography
Lyron Panchek is the Commandant of Basgiath War College, formerly a Colonel, bonded to a Green Clubtail dragon. He leads major formations at the start and end of each academic year — greeting new cadets, overseeing graduating ones, and presiding over important announcements.
In Fourth Wing, Panchek is involved in several leadership decisions: he oversees disciplinary proceedings, presides over the squad battle’s final task, and is among the command staff at Threshing. He also shows ambition, with rumors that he covets General Sorrengail’s position.
During Iron Flame, Panchek manages graduations, promotions (for example of Burton Varrish), and displays anxiety during crisis moments—such as when cadets are under threat or damage howls in the lines. He also shows a willingness to grant mercy or reconsider punishments when advised by experts (e.g., with Violet’s case).
In Onyx Storm, Panchek is revealed to have been leaking information to the Venin. When Xaden and Sgaeyl are trapped by the Sage, Panchek is present with his dragon, and is seen acting in a traitorous capacity.
Physical Description
Panchek has brown eyes, thinning hair, a politician’s smile that often turns sinister, and carries a pocket watch. He wears medals on his uniform and often presents himself formally, projecting authority.
