Biography / History
Shiseo originates from the Far Eastern Empire and seeks political asylum in Paladia following the rise of a new Emperor. He is regarded as a political liability within the Empire and leaves after being accused of misappropriating imperial metals.
Ilva Holdfast facilitates his asylum and placement within Paladia’s institutions. Shiseo becomes affiliated with the Alchemy Institute, where he is identified as a metallurgist. Principate Apollo Holdfast supports his presence, valuing foreign alchemical knowledge.
Shiseo becomes an unofficial assistant to Helena Marino, working primarily in her laboratory. He learns Paladian chymiatria quickly and proves to be a reliable collaborator. Although he speaks little, he is able to read and understand Northern dialects fluently.
During the winter, Shiseo identifies the final unknown component of an experimental alloy previously injected into Vanya Gettlich. Working with Helena Marino, he determines that the material is a synthetic fusion involving a rare Eastern metal known as mo’lian’shi. This discovery leads to the identification of nullium, a substance capable of suppressing resonance.
Shiseo later assists in the development of practical nullium applications, including a wearable suppression device. In the later stages of the conflict, he works alongside Helena Marino and Kaine Ferron and prepares to flee Paladia with them.
While traveling through Novis with an Eastern envoy, the train carrying Shiseo is attacked. All passengers are reported killed, including Shiseo.
