Location
Zehyllna is located further northwest in relation to the other isles, past the regular sea trading routes. Leading up to the isle is an archipelago – a group of smaller isles. Zehyllna is defined by beautiful white sand beaches, green-leafed trees, sparkling rivers, and waterfalls. In contrast to the other isles Zehyllna has magic, though not as much as on the Continent.
Culture
The language spoken on the island is called Zehylish. The capital city of Zehyllna is Xortrys. The city is surrounded by a curved waterfall and the architecture of the city is a jumbled series of additions to previously built structures. One part of the city hosts an amphitheater big enough to host hundreds or thousands of people.
Worship
The isle collectively worships Zihnal, the god of luck. New arrivals receive symbolic “gifts” in a ritual greeting that reflects their fortune or fate.
Relevance
As part of their wider mission to locate the seventh kind of dragon and secure alliances against the Venin, Violet’s squad travels to Zehyllna. Here, a woman named Calixta greets them with a ritual honoring Zihnal, the god of luck, where each member must accept symbolic “gifts” tied to fate. The ritual proves deadly when Trager’s gift foreshadows his death by arrow, making Zehyllna the site of a tragic loss. The squad members are forced to remain somposed and thank Calixta despite their shock and grief.
As a result of them remaining neutral and honoring Zihnal, the queen agrees to meet with them. The squad gains the queen’s support and receives a pledge of Zehyllnan soldiers.
