Biography
Professor Carr is the wielding instructor at Basgiath War College, responsible for teaching cadets how to develop shields, harness lesser magic, and control their signets. He is first introduced when Violet Sorrengail witnesses him execute Jeremiah after the cadet’s innninnsic ability manifests publicly.
After Violet develops her lightning signet, Carr begins her training, focusing on rapid output of strikes rather than precision. Though not specialized in lightning wielding, he pushes Violet to strengthen her control and endurance.
In Iron Flame, Carr is present when Varrish punishes Violet by driving her close to burnout. Carr intervenes, warning that her death—along with the loss of Xaden, Tairn, and Sgaeyl—would be devastating to the war effort. He also instructs Violet on how to calm burnout and advises her to bring Andarna to avoid further risk.
Physical Description
Carr has thin white hair and carries himself with surprising physical strength. His bearing is imposing, marked by clinical detachment rather than kindness.
