Prythian
Prythian is a faerie realm divided into seven courts—four Seasonal and three Solar—each ruled by a High Lord. Bordered by the Mortal Lands and separated by the Wall.
Katja
Rhysand
Rhysand is the High Lord of the Night Court and one of the central figures of the A Court of Thorns and Roses series. Once Amarantha’s captive and feared across Prythian, he is later revealed as the protector of Velaris, the most powerful High Fae alive, and Feyre Archeron’s mate and partner.
Miryam
Miryam is a half-Fae, half-human woman born into slavery in the Black Land, later becoming a key healer and leader in the War for human freedom. She escapes with Drakon’s help, joins Jurian’s rebel army, and eventually finds love and a mating bond with Drakon. Together, they free thousands of enslaved humans, survive impossible odds, and later build a hidden sanctuary in Cretea where humans and Fae live in peace.
Drakon
Drakon is a Seraphim prince and powerful ally of the human rebellion during the War. After rescuing Miryam from the Queen of the Black Land, he joins the fight for human freedom and later discovers she is his mate. Together they free thousands of slaves, survive impossible odds, and build the hidden sanctuary of Cretea—a peaceful nation where humans and Fae live side by side.
Eris Vanserra
Eris Vanserra is the eldest son of Beron and heir to the Autumn Court, known for his cold, calculating exterior and politically ruthless reputation. Though feared for his arrogance and emotional detachment, the series reveals hints of hidden depth—from acts of unexpected mercy to a complicated history shaped by his father’s cruelty and his brothers’ constant threats. Eris remains one of the most enigmatic High Fae in Prythian, walking the line between villain, survivor, and potential ally.
Tarquin
Tarquin is the High Lord of the Summer Court, known for his kindness, idealism, and powerful water magic. Unlike many High Lords, he speaks openly and dreams of a Prythian where High Fae and lesser faeries live as equals.
Helion
Helion Spell-Cleaver is the charismatic and powerful High Lord of the Day Court, known for his golden-white magic, mastery of spell-breaking, and unmatched charm. Widely regarded as one of the most formidable High Lords in Prythian, he is both politically influential and personally notorious for his flirtatious nature. Despite his confidence and brilliance, Helion also carries a complicated personal history—including his long-standing, secret affair with the Lady of the Autumn Court and the hidden truth of Lucien’s parentage.
Beron Vanserra
Beron Vanserra is the cruel and calculating High Lord of the Autumn Court, known for his volatile temper, ruthless leadership, and violent treatment of his family. He orchestrates political alliances through fear and manipulation, executes Lucien’s lover Jesminda, and pits his sons against one another in a constant struggle for power. Despite his charm in public, Beron is widely feared within his own court and remains one of the most antagonistic High Lords in Prythian.
Feyre’s Father (Mr. Archeron)
Mr. Archeron is the fallen “Prince of Merchants,” a once-wealthy father whose collapse into despair forces Feyre to become the family’s provider. While Elain remains devoted to him, Feyre grows distant and Nesta harbors deep resentment, blaming him for their hardship and inaction.
Koschei
Koschei is one of the oldest and most mysterious beings in the A Court of Thorns and Roses universe, predating Prythian, the Cauldron, and even the Mother. His history is largely legend, but the Bone Carver—Koschei’s younger brother—reveals fragments of their past in A Court of Wings and Ruin during Feyre and Cassian’s visit to the Prison.
