Biography / History

When the former High Lord of the Night Court arranged a political marriage between Morrigan and Eris Vanserra of the Autumn Court, Keir did not object. After Mor chose to lose her virginity to Cassian, Eris rejected the alliance, declaring she was no longer of value to him.

Enraged by the ruined match, Keir brutally punished Mor, beating and torturing her before abandoning her at the Autumn Court border with a note stating she was now Eris’s problem. Azriel later rescued her, and the event became the source of Mor’s deep hatred toward her father.

Despite the trauma inflicted on her, Mor eventually recovered and rose to a powerful position in the Night Court alongside her cousin Rhysand, a development Keir greatly resented.

A Court of Mist and Fury

During Rhysand’s visit with Feyre, Mor, Cassian, and Azriel, Keir is forced to serve them as a distraction while Azriel steals the Veritas. When he insults and threatens Feyre, Rhysand violently breaks both his arms and his little finger, ordering him not to seek healing—or face death.

A Court of Wings and Ruin

Rhysand returns with Feyre, Mor, Azriel, Amren, and Nesta to ask Keir to contribute his Darkbringers to the fight against Hybern. He hesitates, claiming his people sympathize with Hybern’s values and promises. To secure his allegiance, Keir insists on one term:

  • that the residents of the Court of Nightmares be allowed to visit Velaris. Rhys agrees, despite Mor’s fury, while quietly ensuring the citizens of Velaris won’t welcome them warmly.

When Feyre asks for the Ouroboros mirror, Keir offers it freely—on the condition that she look into it, warning that doing so drives most viewers to madness.
