Biography / History
A Court of Mist and Fury
Graysen is a wealthy mortal lord’s son, heir to the estate of Nolan, and the man Elain Archeron plans to marry. His family despises the faeries of Prythian and hunts any Fae who cross the Wall. Because of this hatred, Graysen gives Elain an iron engagement ring as a symbol of protection and their future union.
A Court of Wings and Ruin
After the Wall falls, the Night Court seeks Graysen and his father’s support to shelter human refugees on their fortified lands. They attempt to hide the truth that Elain has been Made High Fae, hoping her influence will sway the family—but Jurian has already told Graysen and Nolan everything.
Graysen reacts with anger and hurt, furious that Elain concealed her transformation and that she has a Fae mate, Lucien. He ends the engagement, demands his ring back, and turns away from her. Elain refuses to return the ring, and Nesta strikes him, declaring he never deserved her.
During the final battle in the Mortal Lands, Graysen and Nolan fight under Jurian’s command alongside human forces and allied Fae courts. After the war, he leaves without speaking to Elain and does not look back.
