If you’ve tried to picture the world of Crescent City while reading, you’ve probably run into the same problem we did: there’s no official map of Midgard.
Throughout the Crescent City books, we get small glimpses of the world’s geography — mentions of continents like Valbara and Pangera, cities such as Lunathion, and regions shaped by ancient wars. But the series never shows the full picture in the form of a Crescent City world map.
So we went through the books and gathered the geographic clues to create a fan-made Crescent City world map of Midgard. It helps visualize how the continents and regions mentioned in the series might fit together — and where Crescent City sits within that world.
Crescent City Map of Midgard

We created this fan-made Crescent City map by piecing together the geographic clues scattered throughout the series.
The story takes place on the planet Midgard, a world made up of several regions and continents. From the books, we know that two of the most important continents are Valbara and Pangera, with the city of Lunathion — better known as Crescent City — located on Valbara.
Because Sarah J. Maas never released an official world map, this version brings those scattered clues together to visualize how Midgard might be structured.
The map highlights:
- the continents Valbara and Pangera
- the location of Lunathion (Crescent City)
- major regions mentioned in the books
- the broader layout of Midgard
Key Locations on the Crescent City Map
The Midgard map highlights several important regions and locations mentioned throughout the Crescent City series:
- Lunathion (Crescent City) — the main city where Bryce Quinlan’s story unfolds.
- Valbara — the continent where Crescent City is located.
- Pangera — the second major continent of Midgard, shaped by ancient wars.
- Avallen — a powerful Fae island territory off the coast of Valbara.
What Is Midgard in Crescent City
Midgard is the world where the Crescent City series takes place. It is ruled by the powerful Asteri, who control the planet through a complex political system.
The world is home to multiple supernatural species, including:
- Fae
- angels
- shifters
- witches
- mer
- humans
Different regions of Midgard are shaped by different histories, cultures, and political powers, which is why geography becomes increasingly important as the story expands.
The Continents of Midgard
From what the books reveal, Midgard contains two major continents: Valbara and Pangera. These landmasses define much of the world’s political and historical structure.
Valbara
Valbara is the continent where most of the Crescent City story takes place.
It is home to Lunathion, better known as Crescent City, along with several other regions mentioned throughout the series. Because of its major cities and political influence, Valbara plays a central role in the books’ events.
Pangera
The second continent is Pangera.
Although the series reveals less about this region, Pangera is closely tied to Midgard’s history and the conflicts that shaped the world’s current power structures.
Avallen
Avallen is a powerful Fae island territory located off the coast of Valbara. The island is ruled by the Avallen Fae, a bloodline known for its ancient traditions and strong magical heritage.
Unlike Crescent City, which brings together many different species, Avallen is more isolated and closely tied to Fae culture and lineage. Its ruling family plays an important role in the political dynamics of Midgard, particularly when it comes to the history and legacy of the Fae.
Because of its powerful bloodlines and its connection to Midgard’s past, Avallen becomes increasingly significant as the story of Crescent City unfolds.
Where Is Crescent City Located on the Map?
Crescent City — officially called Lunathion — is located on the continent Valbara.
The city sits along a major river and serves as one of the most important urban centers in Midgard. Because it brings together many different species and political powers, Lunathion becomes a central setting for many of the events in the series.
Why There Is No Official Crescent City World Map
Unlike many fantasy series, Crescent City never gives us a full world map of Midgard in the books. Instead, Sarah J. Maas reveals the geography little by little — through travel descriptions, passing references to regions, and moments where characters mention other parts of the world.
Because of that, we’re left piecing the world together ourselves while reading. We hope this map will help visualize how the continents, cities, and territories mentioned throughout the series might actually fit together.
