Find the Loophole
This is basically a Terms & Conditions trap—fantasy edition. Find the clause that gives the Court the power to “win” any disagreement.
1. The Court grants the Bearer one boon of comfort, delivered before the next full moon.
2. The Bearer shall not be asked for payment in coin, blood, bone, or breath.
3. The Bearer agrees the Court may witness the Bearer’s joy, grief, and private dreams, solely for ceremonial record.
4. The Court shall not alter the Bearer’s memories, except to preserve the Bearer from undue sorrow.
5. The Bearer retains full agency, unless the Bearer’s choices would endanger the Court’s reputation.
6. If any word herein is unclear, the Court’s interpretation shall be considered the truest meaning.
7. The Bearer may withdraw consent at any time, provided such withdrawal is received with adequate notice.
