A Court of Thorns and Roses
During Fire Night, Feyre Archeron is drawn by the sound of drums and leaves her room despite Tamlin and Lucien’s warnings to stay inside until morning. At the edge of the celebration, she encounters three unnamed Picts, a group of lesser faeries who mistake her for a willing participant in the Great Rite. Interpreting her presence as consent, they attempt to drag her into the forest with the intention of sexually assaulting her. As Feyre struggles to escape, Rhysand intervenes. With a single look, he terrifies the Picts into fleeing, preventing the attack.
A Court of Mist and Fury
Rhysand later reveals that after rescuing Feyre, he tracked down the three Picts and manipulated their minds. He transported them Under the Mountain, compelling them to confess to Amarantha that they despised her and took pleasure in her cruelty—ensuring their deaths at her hands.
Appearance
Picts resemble the High Fae in overall structure but are taller, leaner, and more angular. They have pale, sharp-featured faces, slightly pointed teeth, and pitch-black, depthless eyes that give them a distinctly unsettling appearance.
