Biography / History
Winter Court History Under Amarantha
When Amarantha began visiting the Courts of Prythian after the Treaty with the humans was signed, the Winter Court was no exception. Their High Lord was stripped of most of his power and forced to live Under the Mountain for forty-nine years, while Tamlin attempted to break her curse by finding a human who hated faeries but could still fall in love with him.
Before this, the High Lord of the Winter Court, along with the High Lords of the Summer and Day Courts, had rebelled against Amarantha. She executed them and installed temporary, loyal substitutes to maintain control. As further punishment, Amarantha targeted the Winter Court specifically by killing two dozen of their Fae children, leaving deep and lasting trauma among its people. After the previous High Lord’s death, Kallias was declared the new High Lord of the Winter Court.
Appearance
Kallias, the High Lord of the Winter Court, is a strikingly handsome Fae with features shaped by the cold of his court. He has:

- Skin so pale it appears frozen
- Crushing blue eyes, sharp and cold like chips carved from a glacier
As a High Lord of Winter, he often wears heavy furs, even in warmer courts. His position is marked by a crown of ice, symbolizing both his power and his court’s eternal frost.

Kallias is quiet and observant, preferring to stay in the background rather than dominate a room. He is cunning, with a sharp mind that he rarely reveals outright. His calm demeanor carries an underlying sense of danger — a reminder of the power and cold precision of the Winter Court.

Kallias possesses the inherent abilities of a High Lord and the unique magic of his court.
Ice Manipulation
According to Rhysand, Kallias can create, shape, and control ice, a signature power of the Winter Court. His magic allows him to wield cold and frost with precision and force. This power was also partially passed to Feyre, as she received a fraction of magic from each of the seven High Lords when they revived her Under the Mountain.
Relationships
| Viviane | Viviane is Kallias’s mate and wife. He had loved her for his entire life but kept his feelings secret, afraid Amarantha would use Viviane against him. When his power was being torn from him Under the Mountain, he used the last of it to warn her—and to finally tell her that he loved her.After Amarantha’s defeat, Kallias returned to the Winter Court and immediately winnowed to Viviane. She kissed him, he proposed, and they exchanged their vows. According to Viviane, their mating bond fully snapped into place only once they were intimate. |
