Biography / History
Winter Court History Under Amarantha
Kallias became High Lord of the Winter Court after Amarantha executed his predecessor during her rise to power, when several High Lords—including those of the Winter, Summer, and Day Courts—rebelled against her rule. To maintain control, she installed loyal substitutes across the courts and specifically targeted the Winter Court by executing two dozen of its Fae children, leaving lasting trauma among its people.
When Amarantha later seized control of Prythian, Kallias was stripped of most of his power and forced to live Under the Mountain for forty-nine years while Tamlin attempted to break her curse.
Appearance
Kallias, the High Lord of the Winter Court, is a strikingly handsome Fae with features shaped by the cold of his court. He has:

- Skin so pale it appears frozen
- Crushing blue eyes, sharp and cold like chips carved from a glacier

Kallias possesses the inherent abilities of a High Lord and the unique magic of his court.
Ice Manipulation
According to Rhysand, Kallias can create, shape, and control ice, a signature power of the Winter Court. His magic allows him to wield cold and frost with precision and force. This power was also partially passed to Feyre, as she received a fraction of each of the seven High Lords’ magic when they revived her Under the Mountain.
Relationships
| Viviane | Viviane is Kallias’s mate and wife. He had loved her for his entire life but kept his feelings secret, afraid Amarantha would use Viviane against him. When his power was being torn from him Under the Mountain, he used the last of it to warn her—and to finally tell her that he loved her.After Amarantha’s defeat, Kallias returned to the Winter Court and immediately winnowed to Viviane. She kissed him, he proposed, and they exchanged their vows. According to Viviane, their mating bond fully snapped into place only once they were intimate. |
