Location
Feyre’s village lies in the Mortal Lands, south of the Wall. It is about two days’ travel from the border.
Description
The village is a small, impoverished settlement built from dingy stone houses arranged along packed-earth streets that turn to heavy mud in the winter. Its structures are worn and basic, reflecting the overall poverty of the community. At the center of the village is a modest square where merchants gather on market days to trade goods. The village is home to a mix of struggling families, including woodcutters and farmers, with the farmers’ household being the most financially secure among the residents.
Relevance
Feyre’s village is the place where her family lived after losing their fortune, forcing Feyre to hunt daily to keep them alive. It is where she sold the wolf and doe skins that triggered the events leading to her capture by Tamlin. The village is also home to characters such as the Mandrays and Isaac Hale, who form part of Feyre’s early life before Prythian.
In A Court of Wings and Ruin, the village becomes a location of strategic importance when Feyre and Rhysand attempt to evacuate its residents before the final battle against Hybern. Some villagers agreed to leave willingly, while those who refused were evacuated by force to prevent their deaths. Afterward, Hybern’s army destroyed the village, leaving it in ruins.
Notable Locations
| Archeron’s Cottage | The Archeron cottage is a small, cramped home built of gray stone with faded ward-markings, containing two rooms and a bathroom. It has a modest garden, and the only surviving piece from the family’s former wealth is the carved ironwood bed where the three sisters were born and where their mother died. |
