Biography / History

The Ouroboros was once one of the Weaver’s mirrors before her confinement to the cottage, though how it later came into the possession of Keir, Morrigan’s father, remains unknown.

A Court of Wings and Ruin

When Feyre seeks the Bone Carver’s aid in the war against Hybern, he agrees on one condition: she must retrieve the Ouroboros—an artifact that once belonged to his sister, Stryga, and now lies in Keir’s collection.
The mirror is rumored to drive anyone who looks into it to madness. Yet when Feyre returns with the Ouroboros, the Bone Carver reveals that the task was merely a test of her worth. Still, his reaction suggests a genuine desire for the mirror—perhaps because, through its power, he might finally behold his true face, something his own magic prevents him from seeing elsewhere.

Appearance

The Ouroboros is a large, circular mirror—slightly taller than Feyre Archeron—set within a bronze frame shaped like a serpent consuming its own tail.

Powers

The Ouroboros reveals the truth of the viewer’s own nature, stripping away all illusions and defenses. To look into it is to confront one’s most primal self—every flaw, fear, strength, and shadow laid bare. Few survive the experience with their sanity intact, which is why the mirror is feared as much as it is coveted.
